These are the “specific” features for generating calendars:
  • Choice of the number of calendars to calculate
  • Customization of “weights” for calculating the “scores” associated with calendars
  • One-way or round-trip calendars
  • “Asymmetrical” calendars (the days of the second round are different from those of the first round)
  • Calendars for subsequent stages of competitions in which teams from the same group in the previous stage do not meet in the next stage
  • Management of constraints per team such as:
    • Alternations, concurrent events
    • Unavailability and coincidences
    • Double facilities
  • Management of complex global constraints such as:
    • “Special” days (fixed matches on a specific day, e.g., Boxing Day)
    • Avoiding big matches in the early days by setting how many days and how many “big” teams there are

Interface

Thanks to a simple graphical interface, the manager can create the calendar by analyzing constraints and resolving any conflicts, choosing from the different calendars proposed by the system, resolving unmet constraints, and optimizing the final calendar with the innovative Repair Method.

Calendar calculation takes just a few minutes and is structured in a sequence of intuitive steps that allow the manager to easily verify the validity of the constraints entered and their satisfaction. It can be installed on an unlimited number of computers, and a separate calendar calculation can be started on each one.

Partners

TBT MatchBox is the official calendar creation software of the Women’s Volleyball League Serie A.

The Women’s Volleyball League uses it to create the A1 and A2 Regular Season calendars, taking particular advantage of the feature that allows specific matches to be assigned on Boxing Day (December 26) and for managing match travel.

In addition, the calendars for the second phase of the A2 championship stipulate that teams from the same group in the first phase cannot face each other in the next phase.
